How Do You Know If The Details Were Done Right?
Don’t Trust Your Remodel To Just Anyone.

It Shocks and Appalls Me The Lengths To Which Some Contractors Go To Pad Their Pockets.

So how do they manage to get away with it? It’s because a lot of the work is hidden from view, so the client usually doesn’t KNOW what their contractor has done “behind the scenes.”

Case in point: A family I once read about paid a small fortune for the installation of new windows. Things looked great, and they were pretty pleased with their purchase. However, only a short time after the windows were installed, one of their kids leaned on it, and the window promptly fell out of its frame and crashed on the driveway below.

To me, that screams of disrespect to the client: He had no respect for either your family or your home and least of all for your wallet.

There are horror stories out there of contractors that were paid a down payment and simply vanished from sight afterwards with no trace. There was this one story about a contractor that called for an exorbitant down payment, who then showed up and summarily started destroying parts of the house he was tasked to remodel. He stopped showing up after the first day, leaving the clients’ house in shambles. The homeowners were now without a proper house and without any funds to do anything about it.

That’s probably one of the reasons why the home remodeling/home contractors business is the number one complained about profession. In fact, there is even a hit show on Spike called “To Catch A Contractor.” You should take the time to watch an episode or two and really learn about what I am trying to explain to you hear.

I’m not telling you about those horrible things to scare you or to “bash” my competitors. I am just making you aware that in this business you need to be wary and cautious. That’s the reasoning behind why we have created an entire section for you to check us out. We even went so far as to create a set of standards that you should use to judge any contractor…Even Us! We call it a Contractactor Standards Guide, and if you use the guide, you can rapidly determine if a contractor fulfils the requirements to be hired by you.

But don’t take our word for it. Read on and hear the things our industry peers, our customers and our community has to say about us.
