Questions People Are Asking Us:

Do You Really Think That Your Company is the Best?

Yes we do, but then again who really knows? There are tons of great remodeling companies out there, but there are very few “energy experts” in the Maryland area. We pride ourselves on being experts in energy savings and on how home owners can “go green” and save money at the same time

Of course, the larger problem is separating the good companies from the bad. What we aim to do is be completely honest, provide you the absolute best quality, with a no hassle job and to give you the absolute best value for your money. Beyond that, we can only control what we do.

If you don’t choose us, that’s ok; we can’t possibly be the right contractor for everyone…BUT, please be sure to use our “Contractor Standards Guide” book to make sure the contractor you choose is the best they can be – and don’t be afraid to put us to the same test!

What Do Your Services Cost? And, How Do You Stack Up Against the Competition?

We have never aimed to be the lowest priced company… We have always aimed to be the most accurately priced company that provides the absolute best value for the money.

Our prices usually fall in the medium to high range of the market, so we’re neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. Our goal is to tell you exactly how much our services cost in the estimate we provide. Accuracy in an estimate is very important.

Once we give you the estimate, we strive to give you the best bang for your buck, so to speak. We compete on quality, value and experience, not on price. After all, your home is worth much more than saving a few dollars.

Remember this, when it comes to home improvements;

A Super Cheap Price Now Almost Always Means Super Surprises Later.

Why Do Installers / Contractors Lie About or Low Ball Their Estimates?

They want your business. That means they will do almost anything to make sure they have the best chance of doing so. That includes trying to lowball their estimates. They try to model and fit themselves into your budget.

That means that even if you can afford more, they will try to offer you the lowest prices knowing that with a home improvement, where over 80% of the installation is what you can’t see, that they can “cut corners” to pad profits later.

How Accurate Are Your Estimates, and How Do You Protect Against Going Over Budget?

Our goal is to be as accurate as possible. In our opinion, it is always better to come in under budget than over it…it’s the reason why we under promise and over deliver.

The way we guard against going over budget is to be as accurate as possible at the beginning. Remember our “Perfect Promise” Guarantee? We really do mean that. Part of that promise is to provide the most accurate estimate we can up front so you know what’s going on. We use our over 20 years of experience and the knowledge of our business to estimate how much each specific job will cost.

We know how much labor will be, how much materials we’ll need and what they will cost, and how long a project will take. We know, because of our extensive experience and specialization in this industry. Since we know all that, and because we have been doing this for years, we can give the most accurate price estimate possible.

We take our time up front, so that we can go through as many “worst case” scenarios as possible. That way we are prepared for any situation that might come up. We factor every situation we can into the price we give, so the budget we work towards is as exact as possible and is why it is GUARANTEED…the price we quote is the price you pay. (restrictions do apply – like change orders)

How Do You Know if a Remodeler / Contractor is Trustworthy?

Not all contractors are what they seem. They give you a great estimate, and promise the moon, and then when it comes time to deliver, they don’t... or worse, they take you’re your deposit and don’t show up at all.

There are also contractors out there who aren’t crooks, but are just having a hard time, or just don’t know what they’re doing. It’s no fault of their own; the window industry is huge and it’s a full-time job just keeping up with the changes and the products.

There are still others who provided a lowball estimate, and have to cheap out and “cut corners” in order to keep the job near budget.

Since there are so many situations out there, and you need to be sure of the contractor you choose, we’ve developed a simple to read guide on how to know a trustworthy contractor when you see it. The book is called “Contractor’s Standards Guide” and it tells you everything you need to know about how to judge your potential contractors.

In fact, we have even taken the added step of adding a simple checklist that you can use to judge any contractor / remodeler...even us.

You can use the book and the enclosed checklist to ensure that the contractor you choose is the best possible one for the job.
